Expectation VS Reality – How to Set Your patient Up For Success When Getting High Def Lipo Surgery!

Why patients choose to have this kind of procedure ? for a number of reasons. Some are happy with their appearance and wonder “what if II change ….?”, others have a very specific of what they want. Some are looking just to maintaining a healthy and fit body .
Others are looking for a more voluptuous look. Whatever the reason, it’s important to realize the difference between expectation vs reality.

BUT BE CAREFUL
THE FAKE LOOK..
Some of your patients choose liposculpture plastic to look like your , photoshopped, or like a celebrity and this is exactly the wrong reasons’ means.

Big breasts and buttocks are not the answer because High Def Lipo procedure is about enhancing patient’s appearance , making his body beautifully natural.

You as a doctor knows that unsurprisingly, the internet doesn’t always tell the whole truth (or any truth). Some clinics will exaggerate pre and post operation images to trick potential clients and create unrealistic plastic surgery expectations. So when you see a patient that is considering cosmetic surgery, or any surgery for that matter, please make sure you explain to him to be patient and do his research.

 At the end of the day, the most skilled surgeon works with human features, not technology or pixels.  Patients need to be realistic that means understanding that cosmetic surgery can improve, not perfect, looks. Good candidates for surgery have accepted that concept and are likely to be happy with their results.

When your patient considering this procedure , it’s important to explain that while his surgery can give him an ideal body, he needs to keep it. Most results don’t last forever. Over time, our bodies change. However, we can maximize our results with proper care. Therefore, make sure that your patient understand how to eat healthy, exercise, and minimize his stress levels. This will up his chances as a potential surgery candidate and extend his results post operation.

After the surgery, the new body’s shape is more or less permanent. If a patient does gain a moderate amount of weight after the procedure, then the figure will simply be a larger version of the new body shape. Fat cells that are removed by liposuction do not grow back. If the patient does not gain excessive amounts of weight, then the new more pleasing silhouette is permanent. Of course after liposuction, the clock keeps ticking, and advancing age will produce the usual changes in the shape of the body associated with the aging process. Nevertheless, the benefits of liposculpture will always be apparent.

It can offer amazing results. And yet, it’s important to understand what your patient want and need from his choice procedure.
